The Jerry Houston Memorial Golf Tournament
This event is held each year in honor of one of Mt. Juliet’s residents and Rotary member, Jerry Houston. Jerry exemplified the Rotary International motto of “Service Above Self”. The longtime Mt. Juliet resident and owner of Houston’s Meat and Produce was well known for his giving spirit. Over 30 years, Houston was always willing to provide food and support to local events, helping youth sports, the senior citizens center, local churches and schools, the Mt. Juliet Help Center, Big Brothers, and many others. Houston was an avid golfer and played with “The Good Guys”. Jerry Houston passed away in May 2013 and the Breakfast Rotary club wanted to memorialize his spirit of giving and his love of the game of golf, with the Jerry Houston Memorial golf Tournament. Proceeds will be used to fund the Rotary club’s projects to give to the local community just as Jerry did. This year’s tournament will be held on Thursday, May 12th at Windtree Golf club, with a shotgun start at 1:30 P.M. The event features a hole in one contest, a putting contest, flighted field and free range balls. Entry fees are $500.00 per team and $150.00 per individual. (No Mulligans). Hole sponsorships will be available for $100.00.  A Bar-B-Que lunch, catered by Houston’s Meat and Product is included, and will begin at 11:30 A.M.
